Main Features
The outline drawing below features an under 12 metre
registered length fishing vessel with a threequarter length
shelterdeck. The overall length is about 14.0 metres. The vessel is
drawn with a steering nozzle to reduce the length of the stern
overhang. A buoyant skeg as opposed to a plate skeg would be
recommended, scince this would provide more buoyancy aft and help
water flow to the propellor. An Innui type bulbous bow is featured
in order to reduce resistance and provide buoyuancy
forward. General
The design is suitable for trawling, potting and dredging and is
available for kit form construction.. A main engine of around
300 HP should give a speed of 8 knots with a 1400mm Diameter nozzle.
Vessel Capacity Units (VCU's) required with 300 HP are 178. A
variety of main deck and accommodation arrangements are possible;
split winches ( 5 - 7.5 tonne pull) instead of three drum winch,
crew cabin forward, separate from mess/ galley. There would be no
problem fitting a hopper/ conveyor. Fishroom capacity is around 38
cubic metres and could be refrigerated. |
Registered Length
Registered Length is defined (under UK regulations) as the
distance from the fore end of the rudder stock to the foremost
extremity of the vessel. Disclaimer
